Floxetine for spraying
We've tried Feliway, and Amitryptlene for one of our cats that would spray, and neither of them worked.  He has been a basement/outdoor cat for the past two years, because every time we let him upstairs with the other cats (6) he sprays on everything.  He is neutered, and had a health checkup, so it has to be behavorial.  Has anyone tried Floxetine on their cat for spraying, and did it work.  Did you have to keep him on it permanently, or just for awhile?

oh yes can sure be an issue in multiple cat household. I've only 2 myself..both males, the one likes to spray occasionally, mostly when a stray male comes into the yard and he smells his scent...but its also happened when a human visitor comes into my house too...esp. if they have pets of their own and he smells that on their clothing....

since its so intermittent I'm guilty of being lax with any treatment...
I've used homeopathy drops in the past but always just for a day or week. now I've found out it has to build in their system and needs to be used for at least 3 weeks everyday, so I am doing that and can update in a couple weeks if that proved to be of any use.

from holistic sources I've also just learned of an amino acid supplement that is showing great results(I prefer that to all medications...)
it can be used alone or with the homeo.....

this amino acid tends to 'calm' them, since spraying is usually done by a stressed cat to mark their OWN territory.
I would suggest you give this a try before potent medications...

this is the one most recommended by holistic cat people, you don't have to order from iherb. if you can buy this one at a local Vitamin supply store go ahead. try to stick to this brand, or make very sure its at least one free of yeast, corn, wheat, soy, salt and sugar as well as preservatives..
Use up to 1/2 capsule daily mixed in with the food...

its recommended one PER cat....some also add one or two extra....would need a huge home:))
