Begining to hate my cat he does everything to spite me like he will not eat from his cat bowl its clean fresh food but what he will do is tear open the bag of cat food of the same kind of food and eat from that because he knows he's not suppose to. he screams all night and keeps me up so i had to put him on medication i just took the bag of food and put it in the cabinet and now hes eating outta his bowl, he got into chicken that i stupidly left on the coffee table so i took it from him and threw away because if he gets a tiny bit of human food he will NOT eat his food for another two weeks he will allow him self to starve also i just got my kitten onto kitten food because she also had a piece of chicken and it took me a week to get her to eat her food so now she got a taste of chicken AGAIN because he got it down on the floor and she wanted in apparently idk this is how i caught them but he was the one sniffing around it earlier she took one wiff and knew that it was mine and just forgot about it but he kept trying to snatch it he also is so rough with her she will scream and he won't stop he kicks litter all over the floor he doesn't sleep with us anymore he won't even look at us anymore he's just became hell!! He's got a clean bill of health so that's not why he cries he has no reason to be stressed hes on meds for that he was just so spoiled that now he's evil he's not even my cat he's my boyfriends cat that i took in because his mother wouldn't Take care of it if i didn't live in a apartment i would call my cat from hell the are casting. i play with him I'm the one that feeds him and i pet him and talk to him but all he does is destroy the house and Drive me insane if he keeps going like this I'll honestly have no love to give i am a animal lover i won't even let my cats kill a mouse i get it from them and let it go, i hate birds but they've gotten them before and i doctored them right up and let them go but this one cat is so bad that i can't stand him nothing i do works I've looked every thing up i ignore his cries so he knows he won't get anything that way i play with him he's fed he's loved on hes perfectly healthy what more could he want. Nothing he just wants to spite me.

I think you need to take him to the vet.  The fact that he used to be a good cat and is suddenly displaying strange behavior points to something having gone wrong.  He may not be eating due to dental issues as a previous commenter said, and I agree with them - cats don't have the ability to manipulate or spite.  They don't have the emotional intelligence to want to or know how to manipulate someone.  They do what they can to get what they need.  And it sounds like he's crying out for help and you aren't answering it.

I'd take him to the vet asap.

Hi! Im so sorry that you are fustrated. Being that I have a senile cat-he howls at all hours of the day and night and sometimes runs and acts crazy and then sometimes just off in his own world. He was started on an anti depressant for behavior. Im not sure that its effective. I did get some plug in pheromes that have a calmin effect and it seems to have helped some. I have 6 cats and am raising 3 baby baby kittens. Its a lot of work. Being that your kitty was traumatized he probably has issues LOL. Could he possibly be jealous that you are pregnant? or jealous of the kitty? Some kitties just need extra attention,,my one cat Milo is like that. I have to make sure that I take the time to play with him and pet him. If I reassure him he seems to act better but if I come in and am in a hurry-he acts pissed! Try not to mock him I know its hard I am a firm believer that animals have genuine feelings too. I feed my boys wet food and dry food, they free eat the dry food all day/night and then they get a can of wet food in the morning and evening. I split the can between all them. I have mixed the dry and the wet together too and they seem to like that. Cats like "stinky" food. I hope all the best for you. Hang in there. Your kitty needs you and needs love. ~Bkitty

I've had him for nearly a year and he'd cry if he wanted something he'd get it, like i'd wake up when i still lived with my parents and he'd scream and scream at my bedroom door until he got in or out, he thinks being verbal at all will get him whatever he wants he's four years old how could i begin to even break that? he is strictly not allowed outside anymore i used to have to chase him down to bring him in to eat he's not a mouser so he was quickly loosing weight and one day i couldn't find him he was gone for a week came home with a broken paw and he was almost so skinny you could see his bones after that he's NEVER been outside again and NEVER will go out again he won't come home and one day vanished returns a week later probably a few days shy of dying if he didn't eat anything. that's when i took him to the vet about 4 months ago he said the paw was absessed and needed antibiotics and this medicine on his paw and other than that he was healthy also we had him nutered so he would be less persistent of wanting out and he didn't for a long long time, now he's going to the front door crying also he'll be laying on the ground and will just start yelling i come in the other room to see what the heck and he acts real happy like he's calling me out of bed to come sit with him he won't cry if were just chilling together, he gets enough attention i sing to him just stupid parodys of his name he loves his kitten cleans her sleeps next to her sneak attacks her plays with her all day he's a awesome dad besides one thing he doesn't stop when she cries in pain but i break it up when she cries, he's a happy healthy cat i don't understand if he's happy what else he's trying to get. an update tho i woke up with him in bed with me for the first time in forever and he even hopped up on the couch to sleep while we were watching tv, maybe the medicine took effect in his system its only been a few days sense he's started it i know sometimes it takes time to work. but other than him crying 24/7 he was a thousand times better today. i meowed at him five times in a row after he did it to me for like 20 mins i think hes just saying baby me mom when he's crying because he stops when i aknowlage that fact that he's cried for 20 mins.

sorry didn't mean to judge, I am glad you are trying everything to care for this kitty.....and I do admit there are times when medicating becomes something that has to be tried, much rather that than giving up the cat!!

If he lived in a traumatic environment, thats no doubt played a huge roll in his current behaviors, with alot of loving and patience he can learn that this home will treat him will love and respect and therefore he should begin to calm down however that may take some time.

If rapidly changing from dry food over to wet, all cats will get diarrhea and weight loss.....I still think wet food would make him a happier, more content kitty....but the transition from dry to wet has to be done gradually....like adding a few teaspoons a day to the dry, never all at once.  if he is getting a good high protein diet and not so many carbs he will feel more satisfied and not so obsessed with the human food, but I know its hard....I have one too who would much prefer human food to his diet and he is on a homemade diet that I do for him already.

I think a Vet check would be a good idea, maybe there is something medically wrong...did the Vet do a urinalysis? or check his teeth? the constant crying could be because he is having pain. what was looked at when you said he was given a good bill of health? were lab tests done?

I freshin his bowl all day, i have no idea why he wants to tear everything up and tear open the bag instead of eating out of his bowl, you must understand i am pregnant and he is stressing me out bad he kept me up for a week straight before is why he's on meds now he was acting all depressed and wouldn't come near us now he'll stay on the couch with us if we put him up here but he used to sleep under our chin all day, he used to be only a lap kitty. i think he needs to go to the vet to see what changed he doesn't even walk with his tail up anymore he lived in a traumatic place before me i took him in because you could see his bones and he had dierah and just hide at his house my boyfriends mother house, his mother let her dog terrorize him to the point he wouldn't go near other animals but now he's doing great with this kitten but something wrong with this cat, I'm always gonna take care of him wether i like him or not i dont abuse him i let my cats do whatever they want as long as they use their box and aren't destructive they have toys so they won't tear up stuff they even get to claw the couch, I'm not a horrible person my patience has just ran out I've tried everything with and for him, he can't have wet food because it gives him diereah and he looses weight wet food doesn't work for his body at all. I'm just at my wits ends on trying to figure out what his deal is.

Maybe I'm getting too much stressed but the few first lines without a period were enough to make me give up.Maybe later on...
All of us have small stressing moments with pets but  thats the way things are!
Once I shout for another reason at the living room.Loreena run after me absolutely scared and surprised,trowning things around on the floor on her way from kitchen.
That caused me stop the scene imediatelly and say " dont worry hon, mom is ok now"

i find your post very depressing to read, from a so called animal lover.....animals don't 'spit' us. they have needs and are being forced to conform into what 'we' want.....the food they eat, where they can and can't relieve themselves and the list goes on.....
Of course any cat getting a taste of human foods especially meats like chicken aren't going to want to eat dry, dehydrated, carb laden, meat by-products when the real thing is within their reach....and yes a cat will starve itself when they don't like the food offered...in most cases we would too.
you cannot let a cat go more than a couple days without eating, look up Fatty Liver Disease, to learn how quickly their organs start to shut down without food....not long.

I have a couple tips if your open enough to read them, 1. cats won't eat what they can't smell thats why a cat with a blocked nose won't eat.....and dry food left out in a bowl will loose its scent. If You MUST feed dry, besure to freshen it at least once a day....perhaps twice, only give enough to eat at one meal so your continually adding FRESH.
2.many cats have dental issues going on and its painful for them to chew the dry food, try canned for this and many other reasons.
3.I would very much thing the reason for his crying is he is HUNGRY.....try giving him canned food, I would think that would be a much better option than resorting to medication.
4. have you considered making your own cat food from real meat? must get a nutritious recipe so its balanced with all the needed supplements too.
