MollyTheCat1--Needs some support!

Hi Guys,

I do not know how to move a post  on this site so I am asking for you to go to an old post April 21, 2008, by Moochicat.

You will see a post there on November 17, 2014 by MollyTheCat1
Would you be so kind as to read Molly's story and along with some prayers for Molly could you give some words of support and wisdom to Molly's mom.

She has gone through so much with her Molly. She thought she was poisoned and her esophagus was burned, but has now found out she may have a  Mutated form of FPV due to a vaccine given to her. I know very little about this and am hoping some of you out there may be able to help Molly's mom with some support and of course some prayers for Molly.

Molly's mom has rally been a tenacious advocate for her baby--like many of us. She is in Russia, but would be a great asset to our community  due to her diligence in finding medical solutions.

Thanks to everyone, you are always there with the right things to say from the heart as well as your experience.

Hi Mom,

This is just outrageous!!!! Is this vet still in practice or has he been shut down??

To you and the others who have suffered such profound loss at the hands of this Veterinary practice, I am deeply sorry.

Please do not allow this practice to continue, I hope a class action  is in the works.
No it will not bring your babys' back , but it will save the next "Molly" !

Thank you for being an advocate for our kitties. We need to raise awareness about the importance of keeping our pets safe while in the care of Veterinary institutions ........and HOW sad it is this even has to be mentioned, let alone advocated for.

On this Christmas Day Molly is with you in spirit and knows how much you loved her. I hope someday you will find Molly's spirit in another cat that will be lucky enough to find a home in your heart.
May you find Peace in the New Year!

Sincerely,
CML

One month and a day has passed...such a long time. Just today we found out and certainly declare it was all about a veterinarian's fault, that led to this unfortunate loss. The clinic we went for a routine check, after falling from the stairs, had a FPV outbreak, they never warned us (even though they see we have are a little kitty), they never confessed, not even in the end. From several people I have found out that at least 5 cats died of the same symptoms after visiting the clinic. And for most of them they said it was their kidney, that malfunctioned without much more information. I find this disrespectful behaviour regarding the lives of living beings. If they have a single case of the virus, they MUST inform all parents and must put the clinic under quarantine in order to disinfect it. If you have a baby kitty or any under one year, be very careful...a 20 minute check at the wrong place can take the life of your baby. On this holy day we pray for the soul of our kitty and we shall try to forgive the guilty, as we need to forgive ourselves. Forgiveness and love, may our kitty rest in piece and may someday we reunite once again...

I will try to save a Molly, I am making a fb page about the story with pictures. It will take me some time, but I will upload most of her pictures/videos..say 2 photos/videos a day. Maybe someday it may bring awareness and someone will find a cure for FPV. I couldn't save mine, but I will be glad to save a Molly any day. My grief will be laid on hope of someone finding a cure for FPV. From what I have read the last days a lot of cats die from FPV, lot are being saved...in the end we need a cure that works. I need my Molly back.

Dear Mom,

Forgive me, Mom, I am at a loss for words right now, and need to take a step back to try and comprehend what you and your darling Molly have just gone through.
My sadness is profound---I will email you.

PLease, Please, know for you to say you were not a good enough Mom is heartbreaking to hear. Molly could NOT have had a more loving and caring mom than you........Molly knows that and that is what matters.

Molly left this world surrounded by your loving caress. Loving you and knowing she was so very loved by you.

Loving Peace to you Molly!

Thank you all for the kind words, but I can't stop thinking I did something wrong. I just can not accept I did all. I can NOT accept she is not here anymore. I woke up many times after she passed out... I thought she was calling me... Everything is possible and if it is so...then I made a mistake not healing her, not taking her to the right vet, not taking the right decisions. I was so much attached to her, so was she. We were chasing each other and making funny faces...unit that cursed day she got ill. The day she died, she was eating on her own, we were all so happy she made it. Out of the blue she started walking around like searching for something and meowing... I followed her and some time after she passed out ... I picked her up and laid her on her bed and she started meowing out loud and right after the seizure started. She never came back from the seizure, never had the change to say goodbye, she just stopped breathing... She was a little angel...an angel taken too soon. I can not accept this, for real...

I have copied and pasted Molly's story from the last post....

First I would like to thank you for the prayers, they helped! I don't know where to begin from, things changed drastically. The poison version was stated on 16.Nov by the local vet clinic (city B) and then they changed their mind once again after a day on the 17th. I am pretty sure they messed up something with the barium swallow test as the next day they stated she is poisoned and she could barely open her mouth. Anyway after the barium, they found a blockage which resolved on the 2rd day of x-rays. Things got quite messy as on the 17.Nov they said she MAY have feline panleukopenia and wont make it. They made two tests of FPV and both were negative. At the evening of 17.Nov, as a last resort, they suggested injecting interferon and "see what happens". At first I got very mad and angry at them, because they were treating her like a test rabbit... I accepted the interferon as a solution (if she was to take it, should of taken it on the first day, not the last). I was very angry, didn't really wanted to change the clinic as I had not time, but I was stressed by their ***** way of dealing with my cat. Called several clinics and all replied with the same sentence: come as soon as possible in order to start the treatment. I selected one clinic (vet C) and went there with the results : they confirmed FPV without tests and suggested interferon / some other Russian serum and 24H medication intake. I was certain about going with the cat there, but I went to another vet (vet D) just to confirm the treatment.  The last vet (vet D) said she is not for interferon as she is to weak right now. I went home and read about interferon till about 5am, at 8am I woke up and had to take a decision. From what I have read one of interferon's side effect is to lower the WBC, but we already had lowered our WBC from 2.5 to 0.4 (yes, 0.4). So I thought to myself: if they want to give her interferon at this stage...she will die from it and scratched all the clinics suggesting that treatment. My last hope was the vet (vet D), who had some alternative thinking about the problem and went there on the 18th. She said she is having a FPV and that there was a mistake with her vaccine (maybe the way she got the FPV in the first place). Also informed us about the chance this may be a mutated form of FPV (that's why tests couldn't say what it was). I trust my last vet (vet D), after one day with her she is having her first small meal and her first purring(evening of 18.Nov). I know the recovery will be very long as we don't eat normal, we have lost so much of our weight, but my cat is back from the dead. Today (21.Nov) we slept most of the time, she jumped on the chair next to me as I am writing. I believe she will make a full recovery. THANK you again for believing, CML!

lets all join Cml and wish Molly all our prayers for a speedy recovery and to Molly's mom for being such an example of a loving mommy....♥
