My feral cat has to take medician for the next 2 weeks for a uti, and I am the one that gives her the medician? So matbe shes made at me?

We had a dog when I was a kid that did that. It would go in the "Special "no kids/dogs allowed" company room and poop on the really expensive carpet. Mum was having six kinds of heart attacks over it. :)
Hopefully this isn't a case of a cat that never learned proper toilet etiquette. Usually fixing them settles them down, but sometimes you get an animal that just seems "broken". I had one time we "fixed it" by plastic covering everything in the living room for a few weeks (kitty hates plastic covers for peeing!) and used cedar chip litter (which needed changing like 6 times a day).
In the end we reached a more happy result with only occassional accidents.
I know that my mom had a problem like this with her dog, but it was because he was mad at her. She had spent a lot of time with him at first and then she started working more so he would pee on all her stuff and still go outside. She didn't think that was it at first because he would still want to be with her all the time but that was it. She just made sure to give him a little more attention before she left and when she came home. Also she would leave the tv or stereo on when she left which made it seem like there was someone home. Good Luck!
Another question I forgot to ask; are you using a product like "nature's miracle" to clean it up? unless you use that, the odor from the pee is still obvious to the cat.
Ugh, these are always tough problems. It's usually a question of what happens first, you figure out what's wrong or your patience runs out. Zoe4 is right, it could be an anxiety-claiming related issue.
I could throw a few other psych reasons for why cats do this sort of behaviour out, but how about we keep trying to narrow down which one it is the old fashioned way, let me ask a few more questions;
Is she doing this when you aren't paying attention to her or are out? (Then Zoe4 would be most likely right).
Does she do this when she gets excited? (Some cats have a bladder control issue).
Does she just do it haphazardly? (Be sure before you assume this. A cat will sometimes not have learned toilet training from another cat when younger and have a loose sense of proper toilet etiquette due to bad initial upbringing. This makes for a VERY difficult situation to fix).
You have tried the "Off!" products? That you place on a piece of paper or cloth and deters cats from going near it?
You may want to try limiting her access to water to specific times of day. As far as litterbox goes...I've had cats who wanted the box cleaned after even ONE use. ridiculously picky! If that's the case, as self cleaning box may be the way to go.

In a book on cat psychology I once bought, the author suggested that this type of behaviour is usually anxiety related. He suggests that the anxiety is somehow owner-related. It could mean she is marking things belonging to you (or even you - some cats actually pee on their owners) to let the world know you are hers. Since you inherited her with this problem, the anxiety is not because of recent changes at home, so you'll have to find out what changed in her circumstances at her previous owner, and try and figure out why she carried over this anxiety. The author also mentioned "buspirone" that he uses to treat anxious cats. Ask your vet about it and if possible, enlist the help of an animal behaviorist.
yes my clothes anything on the floor. i cannot buy any new furniture and the one I have is a throw away. And if close my door at night, she miaws outside the bedroom until i cannot take it anymore and let her in the bed with me...but i cannot really sleep because you never know when she decides to pee above my head. nice way to live.
I know exactly what you are going through. We have been dealing with this for a least a couple of years. He has been tested for UTI, kidney, diabetes etc. He is healthy. But, for whatever reason he pees on random things. This morning it was a new catnip pad we bought for the 3 cats to share. They all love it, but this AM he decided to pee on it.
He pees on clothes laying on the floor, paper, plastic. My best friend is a VET and she said they just came out with a new type of med. I have been waiting for it, but I will ask her the name of it and let you know.
Good luck!
that's it ! I even tried feliway.......nothing.
AND I saved the cat from the previous owner because she had this particular problem and the owner wanted to put her to sleep. So I took her and I don't regret it...........but i simply cannot take it anymore
The cat is very very affectionate. She loves being touched and she certainly gets a lot of attention...maybe too much??
the litter box i bought was the biggest,w it a top, and it's always cleaned. AND she uses it as well. That is not the problem. she pees in it all the time....but she uses the apt as well. My apt is pretty big 1 bedroom and she is alone in it. the litter-box is in a laundry room with a big window so she also gets a lot os sunshine.................i just don't know
ahh the litter is the clamping type. I keep changing type...now i dont even know anymore which onei am using................
Cats are normally clean creatures. since you've probably ruled out a medical issue, it's probably an environmental or behavioral issue.
Is this an only cat? Is he high strung or aggressive? Does he dislike being touched/ picked up? What size is the litter box? How old is the litter box?(chronic wetters should be given extra large litter boxes) Are you in a studio apartment and if not, is this being done in a specific room? What type of litter? (Cats can have allergies to litters or simply just be picky)
