well I eneded up calling a vet when my roomate got back home. they saidto give her 1/8th of benadryl (which the cat did not like at all) I didnt have a syringe so I had to use a straw and the vet said to try tuna juice. it worked. the next day she still wasnt moving but looked better though. Last night she finnaly ate someting!!
That was "IF it's directly related to the vet visit. :)
This is the most likely scenario. If other symptoms come up, post them here and we'll try to re-evaluate. Keep in mind we aren't a vet service, only experienced animal rescue/foster/shelter workers.
Well... in this case it's directly related to the vet visit (you mention shots a in the standard series?)
There are a variety of adverse reactions to shots that can happen. If this is a chlamydia shot reaction, it could take 1-3 weeks for her to get over it. Generally, the cat would need steroidal treatment to get relief.
Other reactions of this type to other shots generally last for 1-3 days. As horsecorral said (thanks horsecorral! :) ) give her an oral syringe of water, 3x daily, about a quarter to half syringe (this can be picked up for a few dollars).
If you can afford it and are worried, you can get a product called KMR milk replacer 2nd stage. Cats absolutely love this stuff, and you can feed it via oral syringe. It costs about 10-15 dollars, depending where you are. I've nursed sick "sure to die" cats through a bad patch with this with great success. Many deaths for animals are caused by lack of hydration and nutrition leading body/mind to "give up".
Keep in mind if it's an adverse reaction, your vet is not technically at fault. It's just one of those unlucky statistical things.
i don't know about what happened but if the cat is dehydrated, use a syringe and give her water that way. keep her kidneys going until somebody answers you on here.
