Fluid in chest cavity

My 4-yr old cat had 230ml of fluid drained from her cheat cavity and the vet took another x-ray and saw that her heart is abnormally small. He wants to send her for more tests when she's stable but the wait is now driving my family and I mad. Does anyone have any experience like this with your cat? I'm afraid that it'll turn out to be heart failure.

Thanks so much for th welcome and the link to the pages.
I've just brought home Lavie from the vet. The doctor has prescribed some medication to reduce the fluid accumulation. He suspects that she has a congenital heart defect but further tests can only be done in mid-sept as the specialist is away.
She's still looking rather lethargic and is moving hesistantly which I'm now attributing to tiredness. Her appetite is not fully back, we had to coax her to eat a small teaspoon amt.
Thanks so much for the concern! I'll be back to post another update when I have one.

I lost one of my cats last year that had both congestive heart failure and intestinal cancer.
