Hi RyRy4,
I'm just wondering how the little kitten you posted about is doing?
I hope she's doing better. Were you able to take her to be seen by
a vet ? If so, did the vet tell you what's going on and what to do?
Hope all is well. Eve :)
This looks like a prolapsed anus that can happen as a result of constipation. You need to supplement the kitten with formula so she can get the right nutrition. She may need to see a Vet. Keep us posted.
She made another poop, actually tried to poop on my fiances shoulder! It was solid and got stuck, which required me to help "Wipe" it out with some toilet paper. She did however try to eat the chicken we were eating, and cat food, soft cat food is what she's been eating. BUT she did get into some spaghetti we had yesterday, I'm hoping its just an upset stomach.
found this with info on how to transition a kitten from mama's milk to food...
It doesn't explain the open anus tho, that could have happened b/c the first stool was hard and large...but shouldn't stay open like that UNLESS she has lots more stool in the rectum pushing on the anus and causing it to remain open??? not sure, have never seen this either. I would go to a clinic if this isn't any better by tomorrow for sure, keep us updated okay...hope the dear little thing makes out okay...((>^.^<))

its always best to seek out a Vet to know for sure whats going on....I would suspect the sore red anus could be b/c of the loose stools, a rapid change in diet..from mothers milk to a solid food can cause alot of gastric upsets...don't give milk many cats are lactose intolerant, milk will cause more loose stools..
What did you feed the kitten???
Yes, was last month on the 11th, I just asked my fiance and he confirmed it haha.
Also, their ages is a guesstimation,I cant quite remember when they were born, I think it was last month on the 11th, so theyre actually over a month old now. Have teeth, ears are open, walking, playing, running, the whole 9 yards.
She is now and then, the mom has started to ween them, so we introduced them to other food when she doesnt feed them. And thats the odd part, it was a mix, i found a solid piece but when i picked her up her bum was wet with poop, it was orange also. I washed her, and shes still resting. I just gave her half a dropper of some milk (i know probably not the best choice) but I dont want her being hungry. She's back asleep now. It looks as if it's closing some, so I'm hopeful. But she's now acting odd, very sleepy, and is denying food.
tell me PLEASE that this 3-4week old kitten is STILL with her mom and nursing yet, kittens this young need both mothers milk plus an introduction to a small amount of kitten food....
how was the poop? was it a small one or a really large and hard one?
Thank You! I keep watching her, if she's not well by tonight I'll be taking her. I have to wait to take her anywhere, my fiance is at work and it'd be hard to pack up the baby and a kitten and go. I'll try finding a vet open actually, to call. It didnt sound or look normal to me either! I'm hoping it goes away, she's such a sweet kitten, I'd hate for anything to be wrong with her!
Hi RyRy4,
I just read your comments. I've never raised kittens. But this doesn't sound good. Maybe you should call your regular vet. Tell the reception the
situation and ask what they think. I find the receptionists that work at
the vet where we take our cat, Sammy, very helpful. Hope your kitty
feels better soon. Eve :) ( Sammy's mom)
