I am going to get them that l-lysine stuff too and give all 5 of them it with their morning wet food
she had her 7 days but there was left over antibiotics so I gave them to him because he still had a lil goopy eye
yes a URI is very contagious...., you shouldn't have stopped the treatment on the sister kitty b4 ALL the med was used up, this can cause the infection to return with a vengeance.
If the brothers goopy eye hasn't 100% cleared after the ab please take him in for another Vet check....and I hope it hasn't spread to the other kitties too.
you can verify this with your Vet....they should all be on L-lysine the best thing you can do for them now is support their immune systems so they can fight off these diseases. than it isn't always necessary to resort to an antibiotic unless it goes into a confirmed infection stage....♥
yeah I have 5 altogether and only 2 caught it atleast so far thankfully. the one that had it the worst is ther one that still has the goopy eye. I have been giving him the rest of the antibiotics I have from his sister and it looks like its clearing up if its not better by time I run out im going to take him back in
I would get ahold of the vet, when mine had her Upper Res, the vet gave me eye cream that I used for 10 days. If she still had the stuff and gunk in her eye after her round of antibiotics and cream, I was suppossed to get her back to the vet. I have 2 cats and they can spread the bacteria between them, I was lucky the cream worked, but I would get yours back to the vet if she was mine...
Good luck
