Savas - just an update on my kitty

Hey Savas! I realized I never told you how Misha was doing. Remember she's my older cat who had started peeing downstairs in the basement. Well, she's not anymore! I kept her in my room for about 3 weeks while my husband really cleaned and cleaned the carpet with a carpet cleaner, like every day. We kept the windows open constantly and really aired it out. Well, I finally started letting her out but just upstairs. Then a few times she did go downstairs and I held my breath. Well, now she's going up and downstairs but prefers to stay upstairs. There's still a very slight smell (I think, my husband doesn't smell anything) but it's much better. I know one of these days we should replace the carpet and pad, just can't afford it right now.
I did keep one litter box upstairs in the masterbedroom bathroom. I'd love to get that back out of there and just keep the one in the basement but I'm afraid she might start peeing again then with the litter box so far away. My husband hates having that box in there because they kick the litter out and we keep stepping on it. I do clean the box twice a day and sweep but I'd like to get it out of there soon too.
Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that Misha's been doing great! No peeing! Yea! I don't know exactly what stopped it but I'm relieved. I was going to tell you sooner but I wanted to make sure she really did stop for good first.
Thanks for all the advice and support! I really appreciate it. Take care & God bless you for all you do!
April

We've got two covered cat boxes, one in the basement and one in our MB bathroom. I did find a mat to put under the cat box that's supposed to help with catching some of the kitty litter. I cleaned the floor and box real good yesterday and put it down. So far, it's not too bad.

Sorry, don't think I can help you with the hair eating cat! :D Like you said, they all have their own little personalities and quirks, don't they? Gotta luv em! ;P

Take care! And thanks again for all the help and advice!

Heh heh...very cool. I'd suggest an enclosed litter box, but I've yet to meet a cat who liked using one!

Well, three weeks was enough to get Misha to "Forget". i'm glad you didn't have to go through the whole rigamarole I described. Now, if you can tell me how to explain to my cat Bumperus Maximus that our hair is "NOT NOMS! (edible)!!" and chewing on it while we're sleeping is unacceptable, I'd be VERY happy.

We're going to be looking like Cindy Lauper during the 80's, at this rate!
