lovely stories as always......just googled the cheezeburger site its sooo cute. love it.
Spirit and Pip wishing you and the families all a very Merry Christmas
♥Opus
Her name was Teia when she came to us (which I spelled as Teah until corrected by her original owner's sister), I tacked on the Miss and Honey as her personality came out.
From my research, it looks like Teia is a nickname for Theresa. Which is nice, because one of my favorite maternal side great aunts was named Theresa.
Auntie Theresa was quiet and reserved. She would read to me in Italian from a children's book from the old country when I was little. Stopping once in awhile to explain the story in her thick English.
Thank you for raising that memory for me =)
Merry Christmas and Gods Bless!
Yay, another Teia story!! Where did that beautiful name come from, by the way?
What I've always done w/my cats is when I'm preparing to vacuum I holler out "look out, you guys!! Look out!!" before I get out and as i'm plugging in the vacuum, this way they know I'm getting ready and they have time to go upstairs. Then when I'm done "all done, you guys!" is the all clear.
I love the "I Can Has Cheezburger" site too!
Congrats on how all your patience is paying off w/your beautiful girl-looking forward to the next installment & pix! Happy Holidays, Pip!
Teia did take that adventure just a few weeks after she came to live with us.
Unfortunately, that's when she had her first face-to-face with Chesapeake, which relationship seems to be calming finally.
I am just so excited for you, Pip! Teia is getting braver as the days go by which means she is feeling comfortable and secure and all due to you, Pip! You've done an amazing job with this girl. What a great feeling, eh? I suspect it won't be long before you're telling us Teia ventured out of the hall and into the living room (if that's how your house works, that is :)
Hugs!!!
Since I last wrote, Missy T has crossed the hall and been in the Master Suite 7 times on her own (that I know of), without prompting from a vacuum roaring.
haha...love seeing our girl so calmly grooming after that nasty vacuum visited! Thanks for the picture and comments, Pip. As usual, gives me a warm feeling about the patience and love you gave Miss T to get her to this point.
Sorry my mistake Margy,Tweetty is normal - I mean, scare of noises :-) I read in a hurry...
Funny that your cat an margy's one doesnt care for such noises, Loreena is the most peaceful cat I know, evem going to vet , staying there or facing dogs but she hates car or motorbikes noises...they cause her want you be back home asap if not in her carrier.
Tweety only has to see me pick it up and she races outside ..It must be the noise, my is rather loud, I don't do it most times when she is in the house as I know how she hates it, but I know that's not always possible, she also doesnt like the noise the Garbage trucks make ..
Check out my photos, the newest one I found on ICanHazCheezburger...
Calamity Jane Grey was not scared by loud noises either. One time when we lived in Ohio, we had to get a termite treatment along an interior wall. Cammie sat and supervised as the pest control technician while he used a hammer drill to make holes for the applicator.
Missy T is becoming much more outgoing compared to where she was.
Ah, the vacuum. No kitty's friend, is it, Pip. Looks like Ms Teia got over it quickly. Incredibly, Jade is the first cat I've ever had who is not afraid of the vacuum. If she's sleeping in the bedroom and I come in with the machine running, it doesn't even faze her.
Love the new pic. Missy T is looking beautiful!!
