Very relieved to hear you're better, Opus. Hopefully, Health Dept will bypass this whole thing. Would really hate for you and Sami to be harassed over this.
You'll have to let us know how the 'snapdragon' works.
Oh thx for the concern Sara, infection is looking much better, redness gone except for 2 of the small punctures....no longer baseball size.....just feeling really yukky for the strong antibiotic, headachy and dizzy so I've been napping lots.
Health Dept. still hasn't attempted to contact me, I worry since this is his 2nd serious reported bite....
he is such a lovelable guy, his personality just 'snaps' at times and its not always easy to predict when this is gonna happen.
I've ordered some homeopathic product 'snapdragon' its supposed to calm aggressive behavior.
guess it will either help or won't but will not harm..
ever used any homeopathy anyone?
Oh my gosh! So sorry that bite got so bad. Good girl getting yourself to the ER. Oh man, what a nightmare! I so hope you're better today!!! That MRSA is nothing to fool around with. When hubby smacked his knee, we went to the ER at midnight, he was in so much pain and the knee was huge. First thing the ER did was hook him up to an IV just in case of MRSA.
thanks girls for all the thoughts. the arm is slightly better tonight, the redness is still there but not spreading like it was. I am on an anti b.....cipro and its making me feel kinda dizzy, but hey I just hope it works and I don't need to go the extra and have the IV. the doctor at the ER said I had to see improvement within in 24 hrs...so tomorrow will tell.
thx again everyone.
Hi, I hope your arm starts healing. My kitty, who has since crossed the rainbow, bit the Vet Tech, and her finger got infected. She also was put on an antibiotic. The doctors here have to report a cat bite to Animal Control, so two Animal Control Officers paid me a visit. They said it was routine for them to come to the Owner's home. Fortunately my kitty had his Rabies shot which is what they wanted to know. They said to keep him indoors for ten days which was no problem, as he was totally an indoor kitty. Feel better soon.
Christ! Does it hurt Opus? Is the new treatment working? Please honey be extra careful and keep monitoring your arm. I'm sorry you had to spend your sunday at the Hospital but it was a good thing you went.
I, too, hope you are feeling better.
Sorry you are having to deal with so much. I guess now days there are so many new strains of bacteria like that MRSA which is particularly bad. Glad you went in to have it checked out. This should be a good lesson to all of us. Hope you are feeling better.
Yikes! I"m so sorry. What a lousy way to spend a Sunday. But at least you did get medication.
When mine were little, they knew that certain things were No No's in so far as cats go. One friend didn't listen and pulled the cat's tail. A good bite and a scratch. I washed it up for her and applied Neosporin. Her mom was furious with me. I wasn't too happy with her child. I'd already taken the cat to another room. When I wasn't looking, she sneaked back there and pulled the cat's tail.
I hope the anitbiotics work opus. Keep us posted. I had no idea a cats mouth was that dirty.
