WOW now that I read that again- it didn't come across how I meant it- as a joke. I'd never give them anything I didn't ok with the vet. I shouldn't have put that word in there- it will give people wrong impression- that it would be OK.
pleas never give a cat tylenol or aspirin these are very toxic to cats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
has she been dx'd with arthritis? if not than I wouldn't go giving her anything....IMO the lack of moving is more d/t the weight issue.
be sure she is on a WET food if you are giving fiber and she is drinking lots of water, best way to ensure that is add a little extra water to her wet food and the best fiber you can give her is PLAIN PUMPKIN in a can....NOT pumpkin pie filling, just PLAIN pumpkin, add about 1/2 teas to her wet food(start with less is she doesn't like it...butmost cats do.) this will help make her feel fuller and therefore eat a bit less and hopefully help with some weight loss...be sure you are feeding her grain free wet food for best results....cats don't need all those extra carbs in their diet...just adds pounds.
good luck♥
I found a glucosamine gel kind of stuff from Petco. I smear it on Oliver somewhere so he has to lick it off- I've discovered that if I do it somewhere other than his leg he can't flick it off. He HATES it, but you can really tell a difference in him. He doesn't cry when he gets up or rolls over and he doesn't walk with such a visible limp. It hurts to watch him when he is limping and makes me feel guilty when he crys while moving. I wish he could tell me he hurts and we could give him a tylenol. :)
