cat chews cardboard and plastic bags

My cat Rosie-young 2 yr-+ chews cardboard. The minute I receive a package, she chews chunks out. I find cardboard all over the rug. Paper bags, plastic bags-anything she can get her teeth on. I am afraid that she will destroy my wrapped presents. Is there a spray that would deter her? Better yet, how can I stop this?
Puddie my 5 yr old is behaved and does nothing destructive. Rosie also chews the leaves on my orchids. Teeth marks all over. I don't keep poisonous plants around because of her. Help!!

I don't have a cat myself but i know my sisters gorgeous Burmese cat Mr.shadow and i do believe cats enjoy the apparent "sweet" taste of a plastic bag! Everytime I visit them of they visit us and we bring home shopping he MUST inspect all the bags or even get inside them!

I would suggest treating it like any other form of unacceptable behavior.  Provide an acceptable alternative (chew toys), consistently distract her from the unacceptable towards the acceptable, and be patient.  To your cat, her behavior is not destructive or unacceptable because you have not trained her in acceptable behavior.
