Hi there my little Jack is nearly seven months old ---its wee and not spray --ive had cats all my life and this is the first time ive come across this sort of thing -----since ive bought new bedding and a throw he,s been a good boy allthough i do watch him all the time he,s in the bed room
hi and welcome, tell me how old is your kitty? I am assuming he is still a kitten since you are just getting him neutered now.
is he peeing or spraying? there is a difference.
If this happens once even after washing your bedding he will still be able to smell his scent left behind and continue to reuse the spot as if it were a litter box...cats don't know the difference they go by scent.
all the bedding will need to be washed in an enzyme product in order to remove this scent...these are only obtained thru pet stores. some brand names are- ANTI ICKY POO. or URINE ERASE. or NATURES MIRACLE...go to a good pet store and they will have several brands to choose from. you will have to soak and wash all the bedding well.
I will also send you a website that lists many reasons WHY kitty started this in the first place. if he is older than kitten age it could be a medical issue such as bladder crystals and he is trying to tell you he is hurting. When he goes to the Vet it would be agood idea for you to ask that a urine testing be done to rule that out...good luck
