Kittens won't stop nursing

My Kukla gave birth to a litter of four about 3 months ago. They started eating both dry and soft food since they were about 6 weeks old and they have a great appetite now, but they never stopped nursing. She has never tried to stop them, in fact I feel she enjoys it and keeps licking them. I had her spayed a week ago and she stayed at the vet's overnight and when she came back, at first they were a bit scared and the odour of the antiseptic made them keep their distance from her which was good, because I didn't want them pulling on the stitches and causing an infection. The following day, however, they started nursing again and we tried to separate them from the mother as much as we could, but that seemed to annoy her badly and she kept looking for them everywhere. I keep an eye on the incision and stitches and apply an antibiotic ointment and she already received antibiotic and antiinflammatory injections,..thanks God there is no sepsis and I will take her to the vet to remove the stitches in a week or so. The problem is , the kittens still like to suckle and she doesn't mind , and I don't know how long this will go on and if there is something I should do to interfere or just leave it to nature. P.s my Kukla is a young mother, she is a little over one year of age and she has been a great mother with great mother instincts,..she can't keep them out of her sight till now, and if one is missing she goes looking for it.

There's nothing better than a purring kitten.

Well, that's a relief. I just checked on her incision and it's fine. I believe the little ones like to suckle a little, then just cuddle and sleep in mamma's arms. I hear them purring too.She likes that too ..so let them have it their way. We just want them to be happy don't we?!

I had a mama who nursed one of her determined sons until he was bigger than she was.  She was all black, and the two nipples that he kept going  stuck out of her black tummy fur like a pair of eyes, you could see them a mile away when she would sit down in the normal way.  I'm not sure the fur ever closed over them, now that I remember.  Anyway, he is still with me, and a sweeter cat never was.  If mama likes the nursing and baby likes the nursing, let them nurse.  It certainly won't hurt her incision -- breast milk is very resistant to bacteria and almost sterile, if not entirely sterile.

Let her be. Sooner or later she will get fed up with the teeth and claws. If she doesn't then you will have one of the most snuggly litters of all time!
I have a couple cats that o had to bottle feed as kittens.  They are 3 now and still 'nurse' by sucking on a blanket.  Its a comfort thing for them.
