kitty Cancer- weird coincidence

So, 2 months ago My big cat felix, 16 years old (almost), started dropping pounds. he was a 22lb cat, so the decreased appetite was unusual.  his asthma started acting up as well. went to vet, turns out he was in total hear failure, fluid in belly and lungs. went to specialist 24 hour vet, he was tapped, and ultrasounded and they found, what they told me, was cancer in the liver and spleen. the horror. he came home for a few weeks, but I had to put him down shortly thereafter.
Felix has a brother (not genetic but they were raised together) names wyatt. Today, 2 months and four days later, after a decreased appetite, weight loss and fluid in belly, wyatt was diagnosed with nodules on his liver and spleen. cancer lab results due end of week. wyatt is only 10 years old. I find this an absurd coincidence. I cannot shake it. the same symptoms, the same lumps, the same organs. its just too weird. we recently moved in June of this year. Am I living in a toxi enviroment? I checked all the recalled cat food and we were not on the list. The doctor today did not seem moved by this strange coincidence.  anyone ever experience this? or similar symptoms?

With everything I have been going though with one of my kittys and the research I have been doing, your kitty's had Feline Leukemia. If one cat has it the other can catch it from him. My kitty just tested positive for feline leukemia and they have told me to isolate her from the others. To me, the other kittys have already been exposed so why separate them now. Look up feline leukemia or FeLV (medical name for the other) and see if any of that information sounds like what your kittys had.

we just experienced something kind of similar.  this past august, my boyfriend and his dad went camping for about a week.  the day before he left, i took his cat to the vet (hiding, loss of appetite, vomiting, etc) and we found out that she was in a state of organ failure (liver, pancreas)  I went back and forth with her to the vet several times that week but she just kept getting worse.  The DAY he came back, we all went back to the vet one last time to put her down.

Meanwhile, unknown to me at the time, my boyfriend's mom was dealing with the same thing with one of their dogs!  He had been sick and deteriorating for several months and finally died naturally the day before my boyfriend's dad got back from the camping trip.  About a month later, their other house dog (they live in the country and before all this happened, they had 5 dogs - 2 inside, and 3 outside) was diagnosed with cancer.  She died about a month ago.  They also lost the oldest of the outside dogs.  He just wandered off one day and that was that.

I don't know if it is all just strange coincidence, but it was all very sad.  So sorry to hear about Felix and his brother.

I'm no expert on kitty cancers, but I am aware that certain animals/breeds have a higher statistical likelihood of certain types of cancers. I wouldn't worry to much about the toxicity of your environment (keeping in mind that MOST household products/furnishings have a certain level of toxicity and cats are very oral creatures. So if it's in the environment, it's getting into them).

So if your worried about human health, I wouldn't be to concerned.
