20 old month wont sleep

Hi we have a 20 month old boy and at sleep time as soon as he hears sleep time he starts to cry and scream we try between the hours of 8 and 9 pm with a screaming session and climbing out of the cot after dads the bad guy with the im the boss session he finally gives in and goes to sleep but between 11pm and 2 am he is awake screaming then climbs out to come to bed with us once in bed with us he is ok sleeps through we have tried nurophen,panadol,painstop,stuff on the teeth tried laying with him in his room still screams what can we do its crazy going through this everynight PLEASE HELP US????????????????????????????????????

forget using the stuff on his teeth, because if his teeth hurt it could also during the day...your wondering how to get him to sleep and not cry at night? it sounds like he's still sleeping in your bed at some point during the night so he's gonna still cry every night knowing he'll get his way eventually. so until your bed stops COMPLETELY this is going to be an on going battle. let him cry in his crib without you giving in.

thats the thing he climbs out we put him back in then he climbs out again so either way we cant win plus my partner gives in and i drive a truck so i need the sleep
