Children are not meant to eat three squares a day. Mine seemed to have eaten all day long. A few nuts here. An apple there. Cookies and milk. Plus smallish regular meals. As long as what she eats is nutritious it doesn't really matter when she eats it.
I have a 4 yr old daughter that never wants to eat also. At first she didn't wanna eat but was always hungry. Then we tried the whole splitting the plate and you eat this half and u can be done. Then she would start gaging and throwing up at the table because she didn't want to eat. I talked to her doctor they said it was a phase and wern't worried because her weight and everything was fine. They gave me a packet on other ideas to try and get her to eat. We tryed those. then it came to a fight at every meal to eat and throwing up dinner every nite and some time lunch or breakfast.. i would ask her what she wanted for breakfast and she would say nothing because her belly was still full from dinner last night.. or she'd eat breakfast n lucnch but then not dinner because he belly would be full still from lunch.. i got fed up after 7 months of this "phase" and trying everything we could think of...and took her to one of the gas. intes. dr's, they have started her on prilosec and ofcouse have ran a bunch of test to of her belly, kidney's, upper gi, and urine to check everything out... we r still waitin for results as this was resent.. the prilosec has helped alot with her throwing up all the time...not that i'm saying go out and put her on a med. because thats not what i'm saying...but it did help my daughter she still says she's full all the time and doesn't want to eat much. But i have come to learn to let her sit there for an extra longer period of time to eat as long as she's going to eat it, why do i care how long it takes... unless of course we have to go out somewhere or are out to dinner.. i mean i don't let her sit there for hours...hope any of this can help you..!
Allow her the time she needs many children are slow eaters, set the alartm clock earlier, so she has time for breakfast ,I like the idea of vohsie to let her have some protein snacks to fill her .
Low blood sugar and high metobolic rate.
This child needs your attention. Small continual portions of protein foods such as nuts, fruit, raw vegetables, cheese and crackers are but a few solutions. Use a granola mix of these and keep them in her own special cannister right on the special table just for her.
Let me know how it works.
