To out going

We adopted our 5 year old son out of foster care 6 months ago.  We have had him since he was 3.5 and he is the only child in our home.  He will be entering kindegarden in the fall.  He is very smart and learns well.  He has seemed to adjust to our enviornment well and we receive a lot of compliments.  My question is that every time we are in the public he is extremley friendly and out going to anyone and has no fear.  He loves to be the center of attention no matter the situation or who he is around.  We speak to him at the time of this occuring, but it just makes us look like the funny ones to people.  We have had private talks with him about it, but when it happens again it just starts over.  He is very charming and likeable.  I am not sure if he is just excited or if its a form of something.  He currently has no diagnosis.  Any suggestions?  Concerned Mom

Well he knows you are there so he feels its okay in that enviroment, you could explain to him that it may not be a good thing to be so friendly if he is alone anywhere and a person he does not know comes up to him. I think hes just a great guy being happy and friendly its a shame to quell such nice traits but I do understand what you mean.I my oppinion there is nothing wrong hes just a friendly guy.
