Blinking

Blinking

My son was 3yrs old 1mth ago. About 1 week he started blinking more than usual. At first I put it down to him being tired but as the days have gone on despite plenty of sleep his blinking is the same.
I dont feel confident taking him to the doctors as, in the past about various illnesses, they either make me feel neurotic or give me several explanations for his symtoms (symptoms).
I have questioned him,
Do your eyes hurt? NO
Stop blinking you will hurt your eyes! I cant they wont stop. They want to go to sleep.
Are they itchy? NO

I am blaming myself for too much TV, letting himplay cbeebies games with me on th PC and now I am woried that I have maybe frightened him when I have told him off and now he is nervous.!

I feel like crying. Has anyone experienced the same. What shall I do. I am going to ignore it in case I make an issue of it but loads of people have noticed it.

His eyes might be dry. Do you live in a dry climate? Or he could have allergies. That's what we found out our three year old has. You can see if he has the typical allergy shiners (dark circles under his eyes). Does he sniff a lot too?
Or it could be just a harmless tick. Watch to see if he starts doing anything else with the blinking, such as clearing his throat a lot. That could be possiby Tourettes syndrome. I doubt it is that though. The fact that he says his eyes want to go to sleep tells me he's feeling tired or his eyes feel tired. It could be just simply a little too much tv or video games. Cut back on them without making it a big deal and see if that helps. At his next check up ask if they will check his eyes. But I wouldn't worry too much. I think with a few changes, you may see a difference. Best wishes.

I've heard that vitamin A deficiencies cause increased eye blinking.
