Our local nursing healthline say's that if its inconsolible crying for more then an hour with no explanation, they should be seen. I agree, trust your instincts.
Yes, little babies cry for many reasons and that is one of their only ways to communicate. So, try all sorts of things when the baby cries. Check to see if he/she needs a diaper change, feed him, rock him, hold him. See if those things help.
If you drop the baby and he cries a long time-------------- GO TO THE DOCTOR. Just kidding, I assume you know that. But if you think the baby is hurt or sick, then it is best to check with your doctor. Use your gut here.
How old is the infant, is the child being left to cry,seem hungry, can you give us more information for us to answer better. I would not leave an infant crying for long,there is usually a reason, hunger, needs diaper changing, is sick, maybe has a tummy pain.Is the infant your baby?
