Constant Screaming

Hello,

I am a foster mom to a half sibling group.  A 4 yr old girl, and a younger sibling.  I am the 7th home for the 4 yr old, and the 5th for the younger child  The 2 yr old has transistion well, but the 4 yr old.  It has been 2 months and she screams I mean really screams if you try and correct her behavior in any way.  She has thrown items, trashed the room.  She has had to be removed from resteraunts, and stores, we physically have to pick her up, as she is screaming, spitting kicking.  If you serve her food she does not want to eat she will throw it at you, or take a bite and vomit it back on the plate.  I have weekly case workers, and a CASA worker checking in.  I really feel she needs therapy, but so far she has not been granted that.  I do not want to give up on her, because I know if I ask if she is removed from my home they will remove the sister also, making her endure another move.  But this child's behavior is affecting the other kids in the home, and we no longer go anywhere as a family for worry of her behavior.  What are your suggestions?

Why is she doing this it may be a good idea to try to figure out if possible what triggers the behavior, what happens prior to the screaming , what is she upset by, are the other children kind to her, what behavior is it you say you correct? I am asking this as I wonder if you could change the way she is dealt with , small children often find it hard to express themselves ,and sometimes you can avoid a tantrum before it happens, Tantrums are a normal part of development frustration, what are her language skills like? Try distraction and accomodate her when you can. It is good you are getting help for her , my feeling is something triggers the behavior.
