Don't feel too bad, I'm sure it's just a separation anxiety phase that she'll outgrow.  All infants/toddlers go through a clingy stage, when they don't want to leave mommy and don't want anyone else to have mommy's attention.   Her father being back in the picture probably isn't part of the problem.  Babies that young are adjusting to having other people around besides mom.   I'm sure it will work out just fine, it's not that she doesn't like you, it's just a normal phase and it may take time.

I have a 4 yr old and 13 month old daughters.  They are fine for my husband and myself but right around a year old, they each got really clingy and wouldn't have any part of being around anyone but us.

You sound like a nice guy, I bet by the time she's 2, she'll just adore you.  Good luck!

Is her biological dad in the picture? My youngest son does that, he really is a mommys boy and doesnt like it when anyone else has my attention. He too just started it and his the same age as your little girl. i think it is just the age and they get jeolous when someone is "taking away" the person the love the most. I will just sit on the floor with him and whoever is over and we both talk to him and play and then I slowly stop and let the other person take over. I just go slow so he doesnt notice and by the time he does he doesnt care
