Exteme child shyness

Well to begin, I'm extremely worried about my five year old son. He has just started kindergarten and he will not participate with any other children. No games, songs, playing, or anything. He is a loud, energetic child at home. He does not speak to anyone at school or strangers when we are out in public. When I take him to the park he will not play or speak with other children, or he will want to go home. I'm very unsure of what to do at this point, because he still has not warmed up to other children. He also has extreme perfectionism and needs thing done in a certain routine or he gets extremely angry. Also loud noises really frighten him and sometimes make him upset. Also he does not cry when he get's hurt. So please help me I don't know if I'm babying him or being overly watchful.

I agree w/ RockRose. Sounds like anxiety. I would take him to counseling.

Sounds like selective mutism - an anxiety disorder.
