Finger Sucking

I have a son with 4 years old. Recently he begun to put his fingers in his mouth. I need to know the reasons and how can we help him to prevent this. Is this an physical problem?

he is self soothing- psychologically this is leading him to calm and not act out- you are fortunate mom. Let it go for awhile til he learns to deal better with whatever he is seeing as a "challenge" at the moment

hugs

Did he suck his thumb when he was little? Has anything new happened( like starting PreK, ext.) It might just be soothing to him.
