my 6 yr old cries for no apparent reason! why?

I have 2 children my dd is 8 and has ADHD which we have under control, but its my 6 year old son that is worrying me now! He does nothing but cry sometimes for the most silly reasons like the other day i asked him to get dressed for school and he burst into tears telling me no one likes him and that we all hate him! myself and his father both try to reasure him that we love him very much and comfort him the best we can but sometimes it just goes straight over his head and he just carries on, his crying can last anything from 10 mins to 2 hours and of course because he is crying my daughter see`s that as a way to but the boot in (so to speak) and winds him up more! he has zero concerntration and his school work is quite sloppy (sorry couldnt think of another word) and he`s always shouting! At first i thought it was because he was fighting for attention because of his sister`s ADHD but now thats all sorted he`s still the same! He can be very clingy and gets VERY upset if i cant drop everything to attend to him! one example is that he kicks doors or furniture. I could go on forever but i really just want to understand wants going on inside his little head i can see he is upset but i dont know how to help him and it hurts.

Hi, I think you need to get your son evaluated by a professional. Have you had his hearing checked, normally if a child is always shouting, it's a hearing problem, which can lead to poor school work.  If he is only shouting when upset, then that's different.
Have you had him checked for ADHD as well?  Lack of concentration and frustration as you know is a sign of this.  If he is unable to concentrate, he will always struggle in school.  I know how frustrating this is for you, but there is something else going on with him and I would get him checked out ASAP for his sake and yours.  Take care.
