Help! I am a 4th year full day Kindergarten teacher and this year, I have 8 out of 21 children who cry every day, are oppositional, won't follow directions, won't listen, are mean to others, hit, scream and are constantly disruptive no matter what I do. I have modified the classroom environment, tried many different behavior modification plans, and still, the disruptions persist. As a result, I am not able to teach and give all that I have because 3/4's of each day is spent dealing with behavior.
Today, alone, I had 2 children cry, scream and kick until they made themselves throw-up!
For most of them, they are like a light switch, turning on and off their behavior. Nothing seems to motivate them. I have never seen so many like this at one time in one classroom.
