four year old son

My four year old son goes to nursery school.

Last week , his teacher ( lady) telephoned us and informed us about the following problem.

My four year old son has a close friend in class and he wants to sit next to the friend everyday. They end up having parallel conversation. Earlier attempts to separate the two by the teacher has resulted in either / both of them crying.

Last week the teacher asked my son's friend to get up and sit away from my son. My son then clenched his fist in anger and shouted --" No, Dont do that etc." to the teacher.

The teacher said that she was shocked by his behaviour and even before she could react  the other children in my son's class advised my son not to shout at the teacher.

The teacher then went on to tell us that he was an attention seeker and spoke on issues more than necessary ansd also asked us whether he had any pent up anger .

Kindly advise whether there are any problems with my son ( as the teacher seems to suggest ) and what course of action we should take

Sounds like the Teacher has somewhat of a 'strict' nature, what happens if they sit together,  is there a problem ,I didnt quite understand what you meant by ";parellel conversation, "could it be they talk when the teacher is talking, the teacher seems to have some attitude regarding your son, maybe it is a kind of control thing. Your son reacted, we all do that dont we ,or is it that children simply have to obey all rules and cannot act out of frustration.I dont think there is a problem with your son at all but if you are concerned by what she said get him checked out he sounds like a good positive child to me, Good Luck
