Playing with feces?

My 7 yr old daughter was in the bathroom yesterday for quite a while so I went to check on her....the door was open so I just walked in after knocking and found her hand in the toilet and noticed her hand had feces on it....I just shrugged it off as one of those things, though I did let her know it was wrong and to not do it again. She said she wouldn't.  Just a short time ago she was doing it again...she claims the feces was on the seat and she just stuck her hand in it, but I don't believe it.  Why would she do this all of a sudden? I am worry wart so please help me understand what to do, if anything.  I am going to have a talk with her now to see if anything is bothering her.  She is a normal, bright, bubbly, happy 7 yr old so this is totally out of character for her.  Thanks in advance!

I should also state that this is my son - the fourth child - he has three sisters - other problems which may or may not contribute - he is a bed wetter and is also having some difficulty in school
