Potty training 2 yr old boy

My son is 26 months soon and we thing he is very ready to be potty trained.  Recently he began telling us if he went in his diaper and sometimes refuses to put one on.  I started to put him on the potty and went out and bought some DVDs.  The DVDs he could care less for and the potty, well he only sits on it for a few seconds.  Plus when he sits on his potty its so tight that his boy parts points up instead of down.  So I was told by another Mom that with boys you need to train them straight on the toilet.  The only friends of mine that can give me advise all have little girls so Im a bit lost here on what to do.  Please share with me some of your tricks on how to potty train a boy.

my two best friends have boys . one is two and the other is 20 months. they both sit their sons down on a regular toilet with a baby sit on it. it like a little toilet that sits on your regular toilet and what they do is they hold the boy's wee wee down for him while he pees.

I have tow boys-one is four and the other is 2 1/2--they boht use the big potty--I just bought a seat that fits on your toilet that you just take on and off--my first hated the potty chair and I didn't even use it for my second one.  I also like this for then when you are out and about a big potty in the stores don't seem as scary because they are used to using them.  My little guys stand up to pee--the youngest just learned this is how it is done by his big borther.  so we lift the lid he leans over and hangs on the the toilet--must really wash hands after but at least they can get he aim thing down early.  Be prepared for a little mess because their aim is just not that great at first.  The potty seat also has a cover on the front so there penis goes behind that so when the do pee (bm) it doesn't spray all over.--Also be prepared if you are out and about you may have to hold it doen for them so it does not get all over their pants.

And don't push it, 26 months is very young for potty training.  My son trained in 3 days at 30 months.  I had tried earlier but he wasn't interested.

I also used the big potty with a seat on it.

Actualy last night I sat him down on  the toilet with a potty seat on top and he DID pee.  I turned the sink on to get him to pee and he DID.  I was shocked.  All those times we used the potty and nothing and from one try on the toilet he went.  I almost through a party for him. lol.  I think this weekend we're going to try.  I did hear not to push but at least try.  And if he's not ready then I'll hold it off for another few months.  But I think he's ready.  The only thing  is I dont know what to do with him if Im out or driving.  Any adivse ???
I did buy these two water proof pads that fit into the britax car seat and into strollers.  Also did anyone use any kind of incentive.  My son is a huge chocolate fanatic and dont really want to use that  as I've heard some do  because then he'll be off the walls. I limit that stuff to one small piece a day.  Hes very active as it is.

thanks
