Preschool requests we seek help for our 3 yr old

My husband and I work full time and don't have another option.  My son is 3.5 and has attended daycare all his life.  The last two years he has had terrible behavior at school including hitting and other physical aggressiveness to both teachers and students, yelling, tantrums, refusing to listen to the teachers, and using fresh language.  The school has asked us to seek an outside observer to come into the school to evaluate his behavior and develop an action plan for them to use to help improve his behavior.  I have no idea what kind of specialist I can get to do this kind of evaluation.  I have spoken to psychologists, social workers, moms, teachers, etc. but haven't found anyone who will come on site.  Any suggestions?

Is it me are all kids between the ages of 2-6 in need of therapy or some kind of intervention in this country? These are babies in need of play, love, attention and time to adjust! As working parents we tend to forget this. I took my son to 3 different people because the schools dont want to deal with under active or over active kids! Lets sedate them all.

Talk to your pediatrician.  We are having the same issues with our 3.5 year old.  Very frustrating.  Our pediatrician recommended psychologists and psychiatrists for us to see.  The psychologists will come on site to evaluate our son's behavior (we are at the same stage as you and haven't scheduled an evaluation yet).  Also, I'm sure your child care center has other children who are seeing therapists regularly (i know ours does).  Ask for a list of therapists who are already seeing children at your center.  My daycare center was able to provide me with a list of OTs (Occupational Therapists) that come onsite.  My daycare even allows them to leave their equipment onsite to make it easier.

Take your baby out of that child care center.  Find a student of child development at your local community college who will give your baby the kind of TLC he truly needs!  T

Thank you for your response.  I have been told he is too old for early intervention because he is over 3.  I am seeking alternatives, but it is not as easy as I would have thought it would be.
