5 year old daughter with impulse control issues help!

My daughter recently started kindergarten and she loves it. However, her teacher is having problems with her everyday not listening. I told her to feel free to send notes home good or bad for us to talk about and they always say out of seat, hands on everything, wouldn't clean up, touching things, and things like that. One even said total defiance today. Her teacher told me she has no impulse control. I never realized it until then but it really makes sense. when I go to pick her up the other kids are mostly standing in their line and she is messing with everything bouncing around. She cannot keep eye contact for a second, can't sit still for more than 30 seconds, and if she wants something she cannot stop herself from trying to get it. when we talk she tells me that she doesn't know why but she can't stop herself. We have tried rewarding her for good days at school buy still have not seen one. Any tips or ideas please?

And, sure, you can drug her up and make the teachers happy. But your first duty is to your daughter, not the school, or anyone in it.

Make sure your daughter gets enough sleep and stays away from a sugary diet. Sleep and diet can cause a child's behavior to mimic ADHD.

Give her some time to grow up a little, and try not to be so disapproving. Try to get the teachers to ease up, as well. And keep this in mind. Nowadays a child is judged on his or her school performance. That is only a small part of the individual. Because of her behavior at school, your daughter is always in the doghouse. That is very damaging to her and not at all fair.

Hmm - has the teacher mentioned ADD/ADHD?  There is a message forum on this site which deals with this issue.  Just a suggestion ....
