Step son

My 4 year old step son has a very bad habit of not listening to his father or myself. He has a very bad attitude and will scream at the top of his lungs when we try to correct him. If the screaming doesn't get him his way he will go to a corner and rock back and forth. Every time we discipline him for bad behavior he thinks screaming will get him his way. He also has developed a bad habit of not wanting to eat any food that's good for him and he will scream at dinner time and start throwing a temper tantrum if he doesn't get his way. He has never been able to look at us directly when we talk to him, he will look at us for 2 seconds and then look behind us or beside us. He can never have full undivided attention to any one thing at a time. I'm getting very frustrated because I don't know what to do to help him.

Have you had him assessed by a child therapist?  It does sound more serious than general disobedience.  Read about Sensory issues and also autism.  If these are things he can't help, you're not just talking "bad habits," he is not able to control this.

All kids do that. My kid throws tantrums and screams. The rocking in the corner or being able to look you in the eye.....my autistic nephew did that
