What is Wrong with Son???

Please Help.....My son is 10 years old and is playing with his poop.  I walked in on him one day and say him actually stick his finger in his mouth and eat the poop.  He is in his room alot playing by himself.  He is an only child and doesn't have other kids in the neighborhood to play with.  I am really concerned that something either emotional is wrong with him, or mentally.  I really need help!!  My husband doesn't want me to take him to a psychologist.  What is your opinion?  Has anyone every heard of something like this?

well maybe a good thing to get him out of his room and into somwhre family can play games with him , its a sign of some disturbance and I would suggest he goes to the doctor for a check up  may I ask why you would let him be alone .
