Hi,  this is a really, really good link.  It is aimed at  5 to 10 year olds who have this problem and explains what is going on in a language that they can understand.  While the first part deals with soiling of the underware which may not apply, the second part deals with Encopresis - which is probably what is happening.   It puts into kid language what is going on ....explains enema's etc.   I think (hope) it will help.  The link is:

Hi there.  So sorry to hear your little one is going through this!  I had similar issues with my son.  He too had to be 'cleaned out' in the emergency room as his gi tract was 'full' and almost causing a bowel obstruction.  We introduced grape juice into his diet based on the hospital instructions.  He drank grape juice everyday.  (still often has it).  Yes, we definitely had much fruit in his diet.  We stayed away from constipating things though like bananas and apples.  Talk to your family doctor about methods to handle this naturally through diet.  Exercise is great to keep it moving as you know from your post.

However, if she is straining and has blood, that's terrible.  Poor thing!  She may require an at home enema.  Or a laxative temporarily or occasionally.  Talk to your doctor about these strategies.

The grape juice really helped get my son on track though.  good luck

its the diet we eat today with 0 fiber and heaps of preservatives and processed muck that dose it.
feed her fruit and veggies mainly and stop the processed  muck like maccas and just anything man made as humans we aren't meant to be eating any of that and she will be good as new in no time it dose the same thing to me.
to help her poo with out all the pain till she starts eating better tell her when on the toilet to slowly swivel her hips-bottom end it helps me to no end.

My daughter went through the same thing. We tried everything and ended up giving her apple juice mixed with prune juice. We started out with a small ratio of prune juice to apple juice and increased it daily until it was working well but not too well. I hope this helps, I felt so bad to see her in so much pain trying to hold her bowel movements in trying to avoid the pain.

Oh, and this is a pretty good link for adults on Encpresis (there are several good ones out there).  You can see how the above  link dovetails with this.
