eye tick with hand movements, 7yr old boy with adhd

When my son was diagnosed adhd last year he started adderal, shortly after he developed an eye tick, we stopped meds, and still this year the ticks have came back and are worse!! with no meds...   We put him on strattera 5 weeks ago and have noticed a slight decrese in eye ticks but a new hand tick, sqeezing hands repetedly  if the stratera doesnt work we need to go on a fast acting med but it will worsen ticks,  he cant focus in school, and isnt completing work. Im not a believer in meds but he needs them.. I just dont know how to get rid of the ticks with out a sedative thats what the pediatrician recommended I was told theres nothing We can give him for that.

This discussion is related to 13 yr old w/facial eye tick.

The internet should have a lot of information on tics - I might suggest you google the phrase "children and tics" or similar words/phrases to find out about this topic.  Please note that the word is spelled "tic" - your spelling indicates fleas or bugs.  Hope this helps ....

I have a 6yr.old who just started ticks last Jan. He clears his throat, sniffs, blinks his eyes and also twitches his head. I took him to a neuroligist she walked in the door ...Oh! he has ticks, just ticks, nothing wrong with him he just has ticks. They could go away or he could have them forever. That doesn't help me. I want to know why , and how he got ticks. Not happy and very scared. She put him on clonidine. I don't like giving my child meds that I'm not sure about. He's been on them a week there hasn't been much change besides he goes right to sleep. And info about ticks or where to get info please  respond.
Thank you,
