for my son who is 3 years 4months

Hi..I am from India .My son has a problem with rocking body while layin down in bed and even while standing and also when there is music coming from  television. He has not yet started talking,he just mumbles few words but definitely understands all things what we talk to him. When his demands comes like drinking water,he asks for it by showing me towards kitchen to take up glass on his own and many other things like taking bath, etc. My humble and heartfelt question is that In this age ,is he normal that he is doing rocking body side to side in bed and while standing also when looking at lights? Will it go off or any medical suggestion need to be seriously taken?

It is so hard to say.  Rocking can be what they call stimming and it is something done to soothe oneself.  He sounds like he might be doing this.  My son spins-------  he does it when he is anxious or bored.  I wouldn't try to stop him unless it is hurting him physically as he must need that comfort.  Not speaking by his age is a little concerning although I am glad he is communicating with you in some form.  I don't know how your system is in India if you have things such as developmental specialists?  I would consult with his doctor and look into a speech evaluation and a developmental evaluation to see if a larger problem is present.  My son that spins does have sensory integration disorder but some kids on the autism spectrum also will stim.  I'm not saying that to scare you!!  But if there is an issue, addressing it early gives a child the best chance to overcome it.  And many many kids really can these days.  First step is understanding if more is going on and I think that is where you are at now.  You need to have him evaluated by a professional.  Good luck!
