is masterbation(masturbation) normal

i am 13 years old and have been masturbating as long as i could remember and i also think about other girls i know as i do,does this make me lesbian or what, i also have bipolar disorder. does this have anything to do with it

Bipolar might have something to do with it if you find that you masturbate a lot either on the "up" or the "down" and not the other time.  (I.e., maybe someone who is bipolar always masturbates to make themself feel better when down, or maybe they only do it when up -- if so, then obviously there is a connection to the swings of bipolarity.)  If there is no connection of that sort, then you just might be someone who figured out about masturbation rather early and that's that.  (We get a lot of letters from concerned moms about their small kids who have figured it out, so obviously, it/s normal for at least some people to start early.)

If you masturbate thinking of other girls, that is not necessarily a lesbian thing ... a lot of straight women get excited watching porn, when watching the women, because they know what the woman is [supposedly] feeling, and can relate to feeling that way.  I think (am not sure -- check this on some of the teen education websites written about lesbian issues) that if you consistently find that your romantic interest is toward females, then maybe.  In other words, if you have romantic fantasies that don't necessarily culminate in sex fantasies, and those romantic ones also star females and you, then it's worth further examination.
