my 4yr old granddaughter

My Granddaughter wants to join many activites.  I guess it's because her 9 year old brother is into everything.  But once they purchase all the necessary equipment Ballet, soccer) and take her there, she wont participate and when asked why she just doesn't answer.  1st it was ballet.  They ended up pulling her from class.  Then it was soccer.  She said she'd do it and now she wont.  So every pratice and game we take her there ready to paly and she will not participate. We don't want to pull her out of soccer because we fear she'll never follow through with anything in life and will resort to quitting for other more important things.   HELP!

Thanks for your advise.  I was always told that they form at an early age and when my Son asked me I really wasn't sure what to tell him.  Don't want to make any major mistakes that will effect her later.  After thinking about it, I guess by making her follow through, she might not want to join anything in the future.  Who knows what the answer is.  Guess I maybe shouldn't worry so much and just enjoy her!  She is really something else! Definately apple of my eye!

This is normal for a 4 year old, she sees her brother doing things and she wants to join in , so dont get her all the equipment and get her trying to compete ,at that age one class is good, ballet or Gym...or soccer , thats enough her parents have to be firm and if she doesnt like it ignore the protests as she gets older she will want to do more. at the moment shes simply testing the water on getting her own  way ... I bet shes the apple of your eye though ....good luck .

You don't say how old she is.  That would be good for us to know.  How does she do with peers and at school as well?
