4 Year Old w/Hands Around Neck Said He Wanted To "Die Himself"

I found my four year old with his hands around his neck, apparently squeezing, this morning. After I panicked and pulled them away and asked him what he was doing, he said he wanted to "die himself"... When I asked why he said so his throw up would come out. He has recently been ill and threw up once on the floor. He didn't get into any trouble over it, because we were expecting him to, as his brother had been sick with the same thing and had been throwing up. I have no idea what to do! I pulled him into his room and told him to never ever do that again, that it's very dangerous, and that mommy would be sooooo sad and daddy would be sad and Omie would be sad and that we love him a million to infinity. Should I just let it go? Should I talk to his doctor? What do I do?!

I would let it go now ,the more you make of it the more it will become in his head, could he have copied this behavior, how old is his brother would he have learned it from him,it does sound like hes been seeing something. Be aware of any teasing ,sounds like you did the right thing in reassuring him ..Good luck
