My 8 year old poops his pants

My 8 year old son poops his pants and doesnt know he is doing it. He says he cant smell it but I cant see how that is possible.  He sometimes pees his bed at night even after emptying his blatter before he goes to bed. I dont know what to do. He gets lots of attention at home. He is a very active boy. We just dont know what to do.. Please help me.
