Yes is the answer ,you hit the nail on the head ,sleeping during the day if I understood your meaning correctly, ,hes almost 4 months old now its time to have play times and take him walks , music and hearing your voice even from birth, and it is good to communicate all the time with him. Sing ,and read him stories, he will listen to your voice. Keep him awake in the daytime longer and fill the time with Fun.
I normally gives him a bedtime routine around 8 that's including bathe, music and nurse. So he would fall asleep rite after the bedtime routine, but would only sleep for half hour, wake up and cry, but hes really sleepy because when I picked him up he would fall asleep again. He keeps doing that until 11 then would sleep straight until morning! So I really don't know what's the problem because he wakes up and cry but at the same time really sleepy.
My children did the same thing when they were little and I had to start filling their days with activities, just like margy suggested. Playing on the floor- if it's not drafty, or in a bouncy chair, perhaps?
My pedatrition suggested that I start the boys on a little rice cereal and bananas at bedtime--but check with your ped first. But if your baby is sleeping through the night you might not need to start this yet.
