Pls help me

My seven year old son is extremely immature and still cannot read.he has been diagnosed with severe language disoder and muscular irregualarities as he seeks constant movement all the time. we attends for speech and language therapy and has been discharged from occupational therapy as he has passed the age of six. we are now on the waiting lists for therapy for 7 upwards.

The psychologists from his school thinks he suffers from a form of Autism and referred him to a child and adolescent pychiatrist.., who thinks otherwise but agreeshe is extremely immature and not fidgety enough for addh(or whatever it is called)
I worry for his future. what can be wrong?

Thank you all for taking the time out to read my story! i am new to this site.

however as i read on other stories, i recognise alot of behaviours similar to my son, like he cries for ridiculous reasons.., the tears just start rolling down.. and if you ask why,.. it will be "i need a lollipop. very sensitive, yet very bossy. likes to have his way or else... tears. really talkative and constantly asking and repeating same questions all time. i am at my wits end.

In school., he gets on with everyone, well liked and invited to alot of parties.., sometimes i feel like he is embarrssed to see me, if i appear in school without consulting with him.., he will go shy and will not say hello.., and will even ask me what i want? but if he has prior knowledge.., he will be shy but welcoming!

@benjimom, it is normal practise here in ireland to discharge kids from OT once they reach the age of six and has to be be on the waiting list again to get on the OT of from 8 upwards!

I just wish i can understand what is going on with him and if there is any hope of him ever coping with standard education!

Isee you are in Ireland. I hate the thought of wait lists. That is what I'm afraid of with american healthcare if we go socialized.  Kids cannot get what they need and being on a wait list with all these problems while time ticks away is tough!!

This must be hard for you.  I would definitely seek further testing.  are you in the US?

You might seek out services from a children's hospital.  Also, you might seek out the help of a developmental pediatrician.  I think he needs aggressive treatment and wonder why he is discharged from OT.

Give us more info.
