stares

My child has a problem with srarrind. He tilts his head to one side and stares from the corner of his eyes at any particular thing for a short period of time. when he is done starring he immediately goes back to what he was involved in prior to the starring spell. I have had my son checked for seizures (EEG), and ( MRI) and I also had his eyes checked by an optometrist and an opthamologist. All test are normal including the EEG which did not show any signs of seizures: as well the MRI came back normal. We have explored tics, and asperger's syndrome, but have not come up with any thing definitive as of yet. However; We are in the process of requesting special testing to determine if it could be Asperger's Syndrome. I and the Child Development Doctor donot beleive that it is Asperger's Syndrome because he only shows a few signs of Asperger's Syndrome. One M.D. is saying it's Posturing and I am not sold after looking thet term up., just doesn't fit!!  Please help. What are your thoughts?

How old is he?  Can you distract him with a sound - a soft whistle or bell - when he's doing this?

for the seizure to show up I thought they had to be having a seizure at that moment so

did he have the staring symptom during the EEG?

what age? what is the length of each episode?

how about (non hyper) ADD? My husband is genius but can still focus on only one thing- maybe your child is trying to take more in and his channels are getting jumbled?

just brainstorming with you

good luck
