Any disicipline with love is best. if spanked  with in reason of crime did. (Throwing glass should be done on your measure) but a good talking to ...making'em focus on just you.. or time outs and corner times . extended if needed.  Spanking is mentally helpful. It is proven those docs who clam spanking is bad are half right BUT ONLY CUZ THE SPANKINGS DONE WHERE OUT OF ANGER. never spank in heat of anger for if you do learn to controle and administer with Care and affection. hugs...talking...asking questions verbal interacting...yes and no answers are ok but open ended questions bring them to your level. try a few of these . For if all else fails taking privligaes away will get to them. But you have to be strong not to give in. Takes patients and time,.

It isn't someone else's place to tell you if your wrong.  I can only offer you this bit of advice that I learned from my cousin who has twins age 7 and a daughter age 4.  She believes in spanking, but doesn't spank, unless someone was hurt or threatened serious bodily harm.  Therefore if the glass cup hit you when it broke, yes, she would have spanked for that.

I on the other hand have been advised by my child's physician's not to spank him as it does not phase him because of his adhd, etc.

I hope this was helpful.
