Fussy Eater

Hi, I have a 2.5 year old who is a very fussy eater. I will make him a meal that he has liked before and he will not even touch it. I make him very healthy but yummy also, the veggies are very discreet and he will still not go there. I find myself making the second meal also. I must admit I do punish by putting my son in his cot then bringing him out in ten minutes and offering him the same meal and this can go on... and he goes to bed quite upset. After reading your feedback from last response I will try not to do this but get worried he is under nourished. I can at least get an egg flip into him if he has no dinner, the strange thing is he loves them?? Will not eat fruit, loves carbs of course. Was such a good eating when first started solids and I do not know what went wrong? I'll be taking him to a gp to get looked at I think. Any help would be great.
Thank you, GAB

His weight is between the 75-90th percentile for his age which indicates he is normal. Some children do become 'picky eaters' at this age which is not a reflection of your parenting. Just give him the foods he likes. If he likes eggs for dinner then that is fine. Slowly introduce new foods. Sometimes it takes 5-9 times to introduce a food to a child that they will accept, however, if they do not want it you have to not make a fuss and let it go.
