Don't stress I know how hard it is not to cause I have been going through exactly the same thing!!!!!!!!!! I feed my daughter in her bouncer for distraction that works sometimes. I have also tried syringe feeding her which also sometimes works. The other thing is trying a lactose free formula??????? Are her poos runny? The advice I've been given is as long as she has wet nappies and is pooing and happy then don't worry!!!!!!!!! Hope some of this helps. I wil follow this thread cause I'm interested to see what people have to say i'm going through exactly the same as you!

Her weight is below the 5th percentile for her age. You did not mention if you were giving her any solid foods yet. At 5 months old you can give her infant cereal (rice, barley, oats), baby food jarred vegetables and baby food jarred fruit. If you have not, start with winter squash, carrots (do not give homemade carrots), sweet potatoes, peas, green beans: and for fruits- mashed bananas, apples, pears, plums, and peaches. Give about 2-3 Tablespoons of each of 304 feedings. Hopefully that will help her to gain some weight. Suggest trying another infant formula that she will accept. What is important is for you to relax at feedings and at meals. Children can pick-up on the tension which does not help the situation. Feedings need to be joyous for the child and for you, too. Hoped this helped you.

sounds like she is only 10 pounds, which is underweight for her age. i would talk to your doctor when you go in for your babies monthly check up. they may have alternative milk for him to be on which will fatten him up.
