sleepy when she eats

My daughter is 6 years old and we have always had trouble getting her to eat.  She was diagnosed with IBS at 3.
EVERYTIME she begins to eat a meal she has to go to the restroom. It has always been like that.

In the past week we have noticed that when she does eat something she becomes very tired and falls asleep almost imediately.  Any ideas on what could be going on?

Sometimes very high carbohydrate foods will get people very tired due to the increase of sugar in their blood. Suggest having her checked by her MD to find out why she is falling asleep after meals.

Re:  Sleepy when she eats

I have not noticed any difference in carbs vs. protein.  Just for an example, one day last week she had lasagna and fell asleep right away and the next night she had steamed crab and salad, she was asleep by 7:15.

Is it with certain foods, such as high carbohydrates foods or any type of food that she gets tired?
