transition to sippy cup

My daughter is almost 2 yr old and I took away bottle from her . she refuged to drink whole milk from sippy cup .I was giving pediasure daily one 8 0z bottle since she was 18 months old.So I started to give 6 oz whole milk with 2 0z pediasure. My husband said that you are not giving her complete nutrition because sometimes she will not drink entire milk in the cup. Therefore i started to give her morning pediasure ,afternoon & night mixture of both.I am worried that if i give her more pediasure she might not eat other food. Please advise me.

There are many Multi-vitamin brands for children. Kids Flintstones is one of them. Whatever brand you pick, I suggest they are the chewable type. Good luck.

As long as she has a good appetite and growing at a steady pace, she will be fine without supplementation. If you are concerned about your daughter not receiving all of her nutrients due to a decreased appetite, I suggest just a daily children's multi-vitamin.

Your daughter is normal (height and weight) for her age and really does not need the pediasure, however, she likes the taste of it with milk so 8oz of pediasure a day is fine. Mixed with 8oz of milk would give her a total of 16ozs a day of dairy which is good. I would suggest eventually start mixing more milk to less pediasure and then have no pedisure. Pediasure is a supplement used for children who do not gain weight easily due to an illness.

my question is that shall I give her more than  8 oz  of pediasure a day.One of my friends said more than a bottle makes them overgrow for their age.I don't agree with it but I just want to  know whats appropriate daily quantity.I dont give her milk/pediasure with food.I give her milk/pediasure  between meals.Thank you.

Your daughter is normal height and weight for her age. At 2 years old, some children start to become picky with their foods. If she likes pedisure in the milk then do the mixture with the milk. Mealtime need to be enjoyable for your child and for you. If you are concerned she will not eat other foods when she has the milk/pedisure mixture, then give her 4ozs during the meal and 4ozs at the end. She will be getting less milk/pedisure and may eat more regular foods. The way to gauge she is consuming the proper nutrients is that she continues to gain weight and grows. I hope this helped you. Thank you.

My daughter's weight and height is 24 lbs and 34 inches appx. She shows more interest in milk(with pediasure) than other foods like rice, juice etc .I daily give her rice with vegetables or chicken or egg or pulses for lunch and dinner. She eates up egg and leaves out rice. She eates banana sometimes.

How is your daughter's appetite with food and other fluids? What is her weight (kg or lbs.) and height? I need them to assess your daughter nutrition status so I can answer your question. Thank you.
