6 months after infection- and still not 100%

I hope someone can help me. I had unprotected sex in october of last year and a week later felt a burning itching sensation when i pee.. i also had a white discharge and clear during the day.  doctors told me it was urethritis..they gave me one week of antibiotics.. two weeks after finishing the meds.the symptoms came back.. i went back to doc and they gave me meds again..same thing..2 weeks later..discharge..usually in morning..a little white.. the doc decided to give me an extended dose of ciproxin..i took it for a month.. 2 weeks after stopping..symptoms appeared.. i still have the discharge till this day.. it is not as much as it used to be but it's there.. i went to a  new doc now.. and he told me he's certain it was chlamydia..and that meds wipe out majority of the bacteria..but not 100% and that its difficult..because bacteria hide in pits and cells in the urethra.. says that maybe in time it will resolve but antibiotics are or of no use.. anyone can make something out of this.. please help.

You need to be tested to see if you do or do not have it, swab or urine test. If you do then the proper treatment is zithromax or doxycycline.
It sounds like you need a new doctor too.

I got a swab test done and i'll know on thursday the results.. thanks i'll keep the treatments in mind? Is what the doc said possible? even after treatment the bacteria can survive?

Sorry I missed the part where you said you went to a new doctor. very slim chance of it not healing up with the proper medication, just make sure he gives you the right stuff and you should be fine, 1gm of zithromax or 2 doxy for 7-10 days.

i was treated with doxycycline for 10 days.. i looked at previous medication i took.. i also got shots for gonorrhea.. I've been pushed a lot of pills and still have this problem..

It sounds as though you've be properly treated, You should know on thursday whether you are still infected... good luck and let us know how things turn out. =)

my result was negative for chlamydia.. the doc nonetheless gave me 14 days of doxycycline.. hope this will work this time.

maybe you can help me with this.. read the above post.I'm on doxycycline for 2 weeks.. still have some clear discharge although very little.. i feel way better.. on the pills.. when i wasn't on it.. really fatigued..

It could be an anxiety issue, being worried about having an STD. but it could be other issues such as NGU, an or Trich. in my opinion it sounds more like stress and anxiety, Talk to your doctor about NGU and Trich.

I have definetly been anxious but even when i regain my composure it seems to be there.. for months I kind of accepted the fact that i have this thing that won't go away.. At times I do have a red areas on the tip of my penis.. I just read a little about trich and perhaps that is what i have..

Well like I indicated, go see your doctor about those two and also talk to him/ her about a bacterial/fungi infection...

You know it's not chlamydia, thats a good thing... did you test for gono as well?

I think this is something other than an STD but your doctor is going to be the one to help you figure this out. Maybe refer you to another doctor like a urologist or other related doctors. either way you need to work with your doctor and it may take a few visits to figure it out... Keep us informed =)

this is has been puzzling.. I have been treated for gono already and that is supposed to be very efffective.. actually i've seen 5 different doctors who are all urologists.. in the first couple months i did have urine tests that were positive for an infection although they couldnt tell me what it was. but the last 3 months.. my tests have all been negative.. yet i have this discharge.. when i'm on meds it subsides and i feel much better.. but a couple weeks off it and it seems to come back.. lets see if these pills work this time.. a couple of doctors told me that they think it is clamydia (chlamydia) but there is such a small amount that it is not detected in a test.. they said it's very difficult to get rid of 100% of the organism.. i've actually been in southeast asia throughout this whole thing. going back to Canada perhaps will give me a definitive answer.

HMM... I wouldn't believe that is it chlamydia in a small amount that it just can't be detected =/

I would give it some time and just try and be patient but I also suggest working with a doctor you trust and not going to a bunch of diff. docs.

so i finished my 2 week treatment of doxycycline.. now a week and a half after stopping pills i got a discharge this morning.. clear with a little white.. small amount but still..

I thought that for men its normal to get a little discharge, as long as its clear/white.....right? Is it still itching?

Hey there. It is clear with a little white and a little amount.  I don't think I ever had this before my initial infection.  It is not itching.  It is puzzling though because when I go on antibiotics the discharge will subside but after a week or 2 of stopping.. it comes back..

There are a few things this could be... You body may not have completely healed, it may take time for your body to go back to normal...

But it could also be Trich, or your infection has not cleared.

I suggest getting tested for Trich.. and in a month from taking the meds get a follow up test for both gono and Clap... going sooner could effect your test results.

I'll wait till i'm back in Canada to get tested..Thanks for the advice.  I'm suspecting possibly my body is out of wack.. I also have urine dribbling.  So maybe something with my prostrate.
